Pat Boone: The Poor Man’s Charlie Daniels

When a top notch organization like Fox News Channel needs expert commentary on a weighty issue of constitutional law, it trundles out a big gun like washed up hillbilly crooner and racist xenophobe Charlie “This ain’t no rag, it’s a flag, and we don’t wear it on our heads” Daniels.

Unfortunately, not every conservative news outlet has the clout to attract such first-class legal talent. For the lesser lights in the wingnut universe, WorldNetDaily included, there’s Pat Boone. For a beautiful example of how unintentionally but side-splittingly hysterical legal commentary can be, check out ol’ Pat’s 8/4/07 entry on the Supreme Court’s “partial birth abortion” decision.

Funny, I thought Linda Greenhouse’s and Nina Totenberg’s coverage was quite plenteous indeed.

It was! Seems to me that it might be a good idea to book up on what the “liberal media” is actually saying before criticizing the “liberal media” for what they aren’t saying. Much like the Geneva Conventions’ torture proscriptions, though, that idea is “quaint” these days.
