Congress Caves, Bush’s Boner Undiminished

Lawprof Jack Balkin has this writeup on Congress rolling over and presenting its firm young backside to the Bush administration for ravaging in connection with beefing up the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (“FISA”). Bush, of course, wants more, including “meaningful liability protection to those who are alleged to have assisted our Nation following the attacks of September 11, 2001.” As you might expect, Prof. Balkin has a field day with the term “allegedly.”

The text of the FISA amendment bill is available here, along with links to find out who voted how.
