Oceans and Oceans of Stupid

The two members of the Republican presidential ticket are screwing the pooch with frightening regularity these days. It’s almost as though they’re having an idiocy contest.

Alaska governor, young earth creationist, violator of the public trust and gibbering dumbass Sarah Palin told some poor third grader that the Vice President of the United States is “in charge of the U.S. Senate.” That is, to put it charitably, not entirely correct. Article I, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution provides that “The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no vote, unless they be equally divided.” Far from being “in charge,” the VP “presides”, i.e., sits there with thumb planted firmly in ass, until a tie vote arises.

Top of the ticket John “Walnuts” McCain outdid that gaffe by a couple of light years on Tuesday, accidentally agreeing that Western Pennsylvania is stuffed to the bursting point with racists. Having lived right next door to Western Pennsylvania for the first thirty-two years of my life, I can verify that it’s true. However, a politician doesn’t generally run around calling potential voters racists, especially when the New and Absolutely Foolproof Election Strategy is to snatch Pennsylvania from under Obama’s nose.

Not one to kill a good roll with a boring display of competence, McCain uttered the cunt-word on the campaign trail today.

Please, Jesus, let it end soon!
